Treasure from the Great Lakes

A small company in Wisconsin has made the commitment to keep the farmers on Washington Island farming. They are all about sustainability and we here at the House of Spirits thinks that's just awesome.

Besides, they're nice folks! And...

Make an absolutely phenomenal vodka and gin with all that wheat grown on the island.

They have not subscribed to the theory that vodka should be tasteless. And their gin has been compared to Pre-Prohibition style version due to its subtle sweetness, unlike most "dry" gins on the market today.

We are very much looking forward to working with them to bring their wonderful product to Ohio in time for summer.

We will be introducing it to select high-end establishments - no mass marketing here - and offering it for sale at small "mom and pop" stores in Ohio.

We expect it to do very well on the Lake Erie shore and Lake Erie Islands this summer.

Oranges and Vodka

Been done before, you say?

NOT LIKE THIS, we say!

Dave Schmier has come up with the most wonderful, fresh & natural tasting orange flavor for his vodka. It honestly puts all others to shame.

We met with him last month in New York City and hit it off immediately. He is passionate about, and committed to, his product and has taken the time to really do it right.

How exciting!

His spirit is distilled in small batches from premium American grain, made with pure Rocky Mountain water and flavored with select essences of Valencia, Mandarin and Tangerine.

The result is fresh orange taste partnered with a grain vodka that does not compete with the flavoring.

We are looking forward to introducing it to bartenders here. Recipes are SO easy because the orange flavor is so pure. None of that fake-orange aftertaste nastiness that the "others" have.
