Ginger and Cognac, You Say?

Wow, what a combination! VSOP Cognac and baby ginger.

We received a bottle of this as a holiday gift and were quite taken with the bottle itself. With the golden liqueur inside, it looks like a warm glow coming from a Japanese lantern. Beautiful.

Once in the glass, the aroma was unmistakably ginger and promised warmth. Once in the mouth, the dual burn from the ginger and cognac was remarkable and oh-so-delicious.

This would be a wonderful end to any Asian-inspired meal. It seems a shame to mix it but Domaine de Canton’s website offers several recipes that look very enticing indeed.

We were thinking of trying it mixed with cream infused with vanilla bean or orange peel.
